Pennsylvania Casino Robbery Spree Leads to Arrests, Stolen Chips in Excess of $17,000
Two audacious casino heists in Pennsylvania have resulted in the arrest of two men from Maryland, while a third has been charged.
Pennsylvania State Police claim that Antonio Jackson, 41, Anthony Paye, 47, and Macy Wyatt Wilson, 35, plotted to steal valuable gaming chips from two locations managed by Penn Entertainment.
The affidavit regarding the three individuals states that they took $17,000 in purple gaming chips, each valued at $500, from Hollywood Casino York on the morning of Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024. During that incident, security video showed Wilson entering the gaming area within the Galleria Mall and taking a seat at a blackjack table.
Wilson neither engaged nor took part. After observing several rounds, Wilson reportedly jumped over the table and snatched as many purple chips as possible before escaping. Authorities report that Wilson, whose identity was not known to them at the time, fled in a parked gray Ford Explorer.
Fewer than two weeks later, authorities claim that Wilson entered Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course on Saturday, December 7, attempting to execute a similar robbery. Following an abrupt theft of chips from an unknown table game, Wilson escaped through the bus entrance and into the parking garage. A gray Ford Explorer featuring a prominent dent in its tailgate was observed swiftly leaving the parking garage.
Police Pursue Individuals of Interest
The heist at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course near Harrisburg resulted in the trio being recognized. Although Wilson escaped with an undisclosed sum of gaming chips, authorities succeeded in finding the gray Ford Explorer a few hours later at a nearby hotel.
The SUV displayed California dealer tags instead of the Pennsylvania license plate it had in November. An officer noticed a man who appeared recognizable in the hotel lobby and went up to him. Wilson revealed his identity and consented to let the officer examine his hotel room.
Upon arrival, the officer noticed the key to the Ford vehicle. The state trooper discreetly pressed the panic button, and instantly the vehicle’s horn blared while its flashers began to blink.
Wilson was taken into custody. While being interrogated, he confessed to collaborating with Jackson and Paye in the series of robberies. Wilson informed the police that he planned to keep 25% of the stolen chips, while Jackson and Paye were assigned the responsibility of laundering the gaming tokens.
Authorities reported that footage revealed the two individuals at both Hollywood York and Hollywood Penn National using purple chips without having bought them and making multiple cash withdrawals.
Wilson and Paye live in Baltimore, whereas Jackson hails from Owings Mills. They are confronted with a variety of felony charges, such as conspiracy, possession of stolen property, and theft by unlawful taking.
Wilson is still in county jail due to not being able to post a $500K bond. Paye does as well, although his bail wasn’t specified in court documents. Jackson is still on the run.
Habitual Offender
Wilson likely didn’t improve his situation by confessing to authorities that it wasn't the first occasion he aimed at casinos for fast money. Wilson stated that around three years prior, he was apprehended and charged for operating the same scheme at a casino in Maryland.
Wilson has an extensive criminal record in his home state, with charges and convictions for drug possession with intent to distribute, theft, battery, and assault.
